- No account required.
- Your preferences stay on your device.
- The current app loads the category and filter tree from our server. It does not send your searches, saved products or interest scores.
Who we are
The LAYAK team is an independent team developing the app during its early-access phase. LAYAK requires no account. We do not sell your data.
What stays on your device
- A random local participant identifier, used to distinguish trial participants and included in reports you choose to export. It is not linked to your name or email by the app, but does not guarantee complete anonymity.
- Search history and preferences, including language, selected country (in newer builds), budget and priorities.
- Saved products, target totals, simulated-savings history and your experience rating.
- Local category interest scores, their timestamps and markers that prevent counting the same action twice.
- Optional usage measurement events, when you explicitly enable measurement.
Catalog requests in version 1.0.24
In version 1.0.24, the app loads the category and filter tree from our server and uses demo product data. This catalog request does not include your selected country, search text, saved products or interest scores. In newer API-enabled builds, requests may include the product domain and selected country. Our server and hosting provider may see technical connection details, such as your IP address. This does not mean that the app sends your GPS location.
Optional usage measurement
Optional usage measurement is off by default and requires explicit consent. Events stay on your device and are not uploaded automatically. You can decline or disable measurement, and view, export or delete its data in the app. You may voluntarily export and share a report that includes a stable random participant ID.
Local personalization
Category interest scores are calculated locally from submitted searches, offer views, saves and price targets. They decay by 10% per week and are not sent to our server. They affect Today's pick categories and local check priority and thresholds, not store rankings or your explicit target totals. Personalization is independent of optional measurement.
You can stop interest collection and its influence, or reset scores, from Account > How we personalize. Resetting scores does not delete saved products or change the notification limit: one notification across all categories in any seven days. Exported data includes interests; deleting local data removes them. Current price checks run when you open or refresh the app.
Features not currently enabled
Remote background notifications and marketing email subscriptions are not enabled in the current 1.0.24 early-access build. The descriptions below apply only if these services are enabled in a later build and you explicitly choose them.
Remote price alerts
A connected subscription may send a random participant identifier, device push token, watchlist product keys, baseline totals, optional target totals, selected drop threshold and language. Notification delivery uses Expo and Apple/Google services, which process notification information to deliver it. The server keeps the subscription until deletion, or automatic deletion after 30 days without synchronization. Server deletion requires an internet connection. A failed deletion must be confirmed as a failure and allow retry; clearing phone storage or uninstalling the app does not immediately delete a remote subscription.
Marketing email
If enabled later, subscription sends only your email and explicit consent, separately from your device identifier, activity and preferences. The email is stored encrypted in a separate table with the consent timestamp. Your device retains the address and an unsubscribe credential, using secure storage on phones. The subscription remains until cancellation; unsubscribing deletes the email record. In-app data deletion first attempts to unsubscribe and requires a connection. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a remote email subscription.
Your controls and deletion
You can export your local data as a readable report or raw data, delete it from inside the app, reset interests, and disable personalization and notifications. Deleting local app data resets the local participant identifier, which is created again on next use. Do not rely on uninstalling the app as a guarantee that remote subscriptions have been deleted; those services, if enabled later, require their own cancellation and confirmation.
Security and service providers
Remote subscription connections require HTTPS. Local developer previews may use HTTP on localhost and are not public distributions. We use hosting for the catalog and services for app building and distribution; these providers may process technical connection data. The hosting provider may keep routine connection logs.
Stores and future affiliate links
When you open a store, its privacy policy applies. LAYAK does not process payments; purchases happen on the store's website. Affiliate links are not active in the current build. If enabled later, they will be disclosed, may earn LAYAK a commission at no additional cost to you, and will not change offer rankings. The store or affiliate network may use its own identifiers on its website.
